According to CNN NEWS, cooking fires are the leading cause of home fires in the United States & grease fires are a main culprit. Thus with holidays right around the corner we thought of our dear customers. We know many will be frying turkeys for the holidays and just cooking in general. Well if that’s you, then you need to know how to cook a great Thanksgiving dinner without burning down the house.

So let’s say you do end up having something in the eye of your stove and you see a small flame. So do you grab a cup of water to put it out? No, even though it started from something in the eye of the stove, you’re frying chicken and there’s grease on that pot which is fueling those flames. It’s now a grease fire!

Well, how do you put it out? You need a fire extinguisher that can handle grease fires and should be dry and chemical-based. Using a fire extinguisher that's water based can have disastrous results!  We would suggest that you pull the pin, you squeeze the trigger, and you aim at the base of the fire. If you put it up high, the chemical falls on top of the fire and doesn't help.

If you encounter smoke damage or even fire damage while putting it out, don’t hesitate to give us a call! As water and fire damage specialists, we have the experience, the expertise, and the advanced training that enables us to get your property restored quickly and thoroughly.
