As we have seen & heard many begin their annual usage of fireworks it’s important to us here at SERVPRO to leave you a few tips on how to be safe while having fun.

  1. NEVER light fireworks indoors. No sparklers, or anything!
  2. Don’t try to relight or reuse malfunctioning fireworks. Also, If your fireworks aren’t releasing from the barrel you placed them in don’t look into the barrel.                                   
  3. Soak in water malfunctioning fireworks to assure they are not lit before discarding. You can also keep a bucket of water and or fire extinguisher in the event of a fire emergency.
  4. Never use illegal fireworks!
  5. NEVER USE FIREWORKS CLOSE TO BUILDINGS OR HOMES USE THEM IN OPEN AREAS.

Did you know that according to the National Safety Council fireworks start an average of 18,500 fires each year? That's a crazy number and we hope you don't start a fire but in the event you do, we're here to help!
