Cooking during the holidays is the number one cause for domestic home fires so we thought to provide a few safety tips.
1. Stay in the kitchen when you are cooking on the stovetop so you can keep an eye on the food.
- Don’t wear loose or dangling clothing when cooking.
- Keep the floor area in the kitchen clean and dry to prevent falling.
- If you’re frying or grilling NEVER leave it unattended.
- Always check the kitchen to be sure everything is off before going to bed.
